Covering more than 276 square miles of Shelby County, Tennessee, we stand at the ready to surge any one or all of our nine Engine Companies to any emergency throughout our protection areas. We have more than 150 full time paid professional fire fighters and the most dedicated staff anywhere. This fire department is equipped to handle any variety of fire or medical emergency and specializes in Heavy Rescue, Haz-Mat Response, SWAT Medic Responses, Task Force Missions and Special Operations.

As proud as I am of our front line fire suppression staff, I share an equal amount of pride in our Training, Investigations, Inspections, Dispatch, and Office personnel.
